On the path of developing AI technology in the country, the specialized session «AI in Industry» was held on May 19, 2025, in the city of Zanjan. This event was part of the series of provincial sessions of Iran’s Annual AI Award, held in collaboration with the Zanjan Chamber of Commerce and the province’s Industrial Estates Company.
Continuing on the path of developing artificial intelligence and expanding promotional and specialized programs across the country, one of the provincial sessions of Iran’s Annual AI Award was held on May 19, 2025, in collaboration with the Zanjan Chamber of Commerce and the province’s Industrial Estates Company in Zanjan.
At the start of this program, Mr. Yousefi, head of the Zanjan Chamber of Commerce, while welcoming the attendees, referred to the province’s existing capacities for the growth of technological entrepreneurship and emphasized the importance of paying attention to new technologies such as artificial intelligence in enhancing the province’s industrial and economic capabilities.
Next, Eng. Jalil Askari, Secretary of Iran’s Annual AI Award, while explaining the philosophy behind the creation of this award, presented a report on the actions taken over the past two editions. He also addressed future plans, including expanding activities at the international level, developing the award’s executive structure, and holding events in more than 10 provinces of the country.
Dr. Mehdi Bazargan, too, in this session, analyzed the transformative role of AI in various industries based on global megatrends and emphasized the necessity of domestic industries paying attention to technological changes.
Then, Dr. Mohsen Afsharchi, reviewing concrete experiences and real-world applications of AI in industry, presented perspectives on this technology’s impact on improving productivity and developing markets.
In the final part of the program, Dr. Mohammad Rabiei, introducing the syllabus of the iAAA training course as the central component of the annual award, explained the role of targeted training in preparing human resources for an effective entry into the AI ecosystem. Focusing on the food industry, he also described the operational applications of this technology in the supply chain, quality control, and food product development.
This program is part of the series of provincial events of Iran’s Annual AI Award, which is being held in various parts of the country with the aim of developing education, identifying emerging talent, creating links between academia and industry, and enhancing regional capacities in the field of artificial intelligence.
