The MAHAK charity, with more than 25 years of experience in treating children with cancer, has begun a new path for its digital transformation and treatment innovation. This organization’s joint collaboration with the secretariat of Iran’s Annual AI Award, iAAA, marks an important step in leveraging new technologies to enhance the quality of treatment and diagnosis.

Dr. Arasb Ahmadian, CEO of MAHAK, explained: «MAHAK has always moved on the basis of strategic plans, and our fifth strategic plan has set digital transformation as its main axis. The common ground between digital transformation and treatment innovation is the use of AI in medical diagnosis processes. Our goal is to turn hospital data into algorithms that provide more accurate and faster diagnoses, and over time, AI learns from these processes and strengthens MAHAK’s intelligent systems.

Mohsenifar, MAHAK’s Chief Digital Development Officer, also noted the importance of transparency and speed in charity activities and said: AI can increase the quality of our services and provide more accurate and reliable reports for the public. This technology not only helps with early diagnosis but also paves the way for developing medical software and applications related to children’s treatment.

Mojtaba Ashrafi, MAHAK’s Deputy for Research, spoke about the operational challenge: One of the country’s serious problems is the shortage of radiologists and imaging specialists. AI can act as a second eye and analyze CT scans with higher accuracy. This technology is especially important in the early detection of children’s brain tumors and can increase the chance of treatment, reduce treatment costs and complications, and save the lives of more children.

MAHAK’s collaboration with iAAA is a practical example of the link between technology and health. This project is not only usable within the hospital but, if successful, can be expanded to the national level and equip imaging software across the country with intelligent systems.
